Spectacular free crochet pattern Easter bunny

 

Welcome at this Easter bunny crochet pattern. It will show you how to make a easter bunny and a little basket for easter eggs.

Materials

Feel free to use any kind of yarn,or yarn weight with the appriopate hook size.
I used acrylic yarn, with hooksize 3,5mm.

  • light brown
  • light green
  • off white
  • pair of safety eyes 15 mm
  • safety nose 15 mm
  • polyester stuffing

Abbreviations U.S.

  • magic circle
  • st = stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • ch = chain stitch
  • 2tog = crochet 2 stitches together
  • dc = double crochet
  • trc = triple double crochet
    These are the American abbreviations.
    Work in continuous rounds, do not join.

Head
Use light brown yarn.

1 magic ring with 6 sc
2 2 sc in each st around (12)
3 1 sc then 2 sc in next st (18)

Stuff the head and keep stuffing the next rows.

Fold the bottom together and close with 9 single crochets.

Arms
Use light brown yarn.

Stuff the arms lightly.
Fold the bottom together and close with 9 single crochets.

Legs
Use light brown yarn.

Stuff the legs lightly.
Fold the bottom together and close with 9 single crochets.

Tail
Use off white yarn.

round 1 magic circle with 6 st (6)

Fasten off.

Finishing
Sew the ears to the head, between round 5 and 13:

Sew the head to the small part of the body:

Sew the arms to the sides of the body, close to the head:

Sew the legs to the bottom of the body, like this:

Sew the tail to the body, use a little stuffing:

Embroider eyebrows above the eyes and a vertical line under the nose:


I cut out two parts of fabric, a bit smaller than the ears.
I also cut out a little heart, for the body.
Use the blanket stitch to attach the fabric to the ears and body.

Bow
Use light green yarn.
Chain 9
Round 1:
sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across. Ch 1 and turn (8)
Round 2-12:
sc in each stitch across. Ch 1 and turn (8)
Edging:
At the end of round 12, ch 1 and turn. Sc all the way around, putting 2 sc in each corner.
Join with sl st.
Sew in your ends.

Attach green yarn to a needle. Fold the middle of the bow together and pull the needle through:

Wrap the yarn around the bow a few times. Knot the back of the bow and fasten off.

A cute Easter bunny like this needs a little basket for eggs!

Attach white yarn to one of the loops from round 18.
Then crochet:
sc -*ch 2 – skip next 2 st – sc
Repeat from * around ending with a slip stitch into the starting sc.
Fasten off.

Basket handle
Use light green yarn.

Chain 25.
Round 1:
sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across. Ch 3 and turn (24)
Round 2:
dc in 4th st from hook and in each st across. Ch 1 and turn (24)
Round 1:
sc in each chain across.
Fasten off and sew the handle to the basket.
