In kitty cat family crochet-a-long part 3 we’ll continue with the mother. In part 1 and 2 you made the head, body, ears and the white spot for the belly.

Snout

Round 1 Use purple and crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2 2 sc in each st (12)
Round 3 1 sc then 2 sc in next st (18)
Round 4 sc in next 2 st then 2 sc in next st (24)
Round 5 Inc in 1st st; sc in next 9 st; inc in next 3 st;
sc in next 9 st; inc in last 2 st (30)
Round 6 1 sc in each st around (30)
Round 7 Inc in 1st st; sc in next 12 st; inc in next 3 st:
sc in next 12 st; inc in last 2 st (36)
Round 8 1 sc in each st around (36)
Round 9 1 sc in next 5 st then 2 sc in next st (42)

Fasten off and leave a sewing tail. Place the nose between round 4 and 5. Embroider a mouth like shown in the picture.

Paw (make 2) 

Round 1 Use purple and crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6) Ch 3
and 11 dc. Close with sl st in 3rd ch.
Round 2 ch 3, dc in 1st st; 2 dc in next 11 st (24)
Close with sl st in 3rd ch.
Round 3 ch 3, dc in 1st st; 2 dc in next 23 st (48)
Close with sl st in 3rd ch. Turn.
Round 4 sc in next 2 st; skip next 2 st; *cluster of 6 dc in next st:
skip next 2 st;  sc in next; skip next 2 st:
Repeat from * twice. Turn.
(so we don’t use all stitches from round 3)
Round 5 skip 2 st from previous round; sc in the 6 dc cluster from

Stuff the leg, fasten off and close the top of the leg by sewing it.

Arm (make 2)

Round 1 crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)

Round 5-10 1 sc in each st around (24)
Round 6 sc in next 4 st then 1 dec (20)

Change to purple yarn.
Round 9-33 1 sc in each st around (16)

Stuff the arm, fasten off and close the top of the arm by sewing it.

Tail

Round 1 Use purple and crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2 sc in each st (12)
Round 3 1 sc then 2 sc in next st (18)
Round 4 sc in next 2 st then 2 sc in next st (24)
Round 5-6 1 sc in each st around (24)
Round 7 sc in next 4 st then 1 dec (20)
Change to white yarn.
Round 8-12 1 sc in each st around (20)
Round 13 Sc in next 8 st then 1 dec around (18)
Round 14-38 1 sc in each st around (18) Change to purple.
Round 39-40 1 sc in each st around (18) Change to white.
Round 41-42 1 sc in each st around (18) Change to purple.

Stuff the tail and close with 9 sc.

Putting the parts together.

Stuff the head. Place the snout between round 21 and 37.

Place the eyes between round 20 and 21 and embroider the eyelashes like shown in the picture.

Sew the ears on the head between round 4 and 19.

Stuff the body. Sew the white spot on the body between round 11 and 37.

Sew the head on the body.

Sew the arms on the body like shown in the picture.

Sew the legs on the body like shown in the picture.

Sew the tail on the body between round 16 and 17, like shown on the picture.

Collar.

Measure the neck. Crochet a chain with the same length and add 2 chains. Use green and glitter yarn.
Crochet a hdc in the 3rd chain from the hook and a hdc in the next stitches.
Turn and ch 1. Crochet a sc in each st. When you finish your row, don’t turn, but continue with the side of the row: 2 sc on the side; the same amount of sc on the borrom of the collar as you used for the top; 2 sc on the last side. Close with a sl st and fasten off. Leave a sewing tail.
Sew the beads on the collar. Divide them over the number of stitches you have.
Place the collar on the neck and sew the sides together. Weave in the ends.

The mother is ready and this is the end of Kitty cat family crochet-a-long part 3! Part 4 will be available on March 24th. Then we’ll make the third kitten and we’ll start with the father.
